• Why does Pandora's British Invasion station have songs by Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel?
• I am being "shadowed" by a college student writing a profile of me. This is the second one doing this in the last two years. The first was an undergraduate at Sarah Lawrence. This one is a grad student at the Columbia J-School. They think I'm an interesting subject for a profile. I can't imagine why.
• While we were in Washington for the Lobby Days of the National Center for Transgender Equality several of us noticed how spotless the floors of the Capitol Hill buildings were. I remarked that I've seen hospital floors that weren't so clean.
• My census forms came while I was in Washington. We're supposed to report who's living at the address on April 1. Why are they sending the forms out so early? Do they really expect people to hold on to them for over 2 weeks before filling them out and sending them in?

● Wisconsin's football opponent today is Wofford College. Wofford College? I had to look it up just to find out where the school is located.

● I'm always amazed when people are amazed when they get parking tickets. I will grant you that sometimes it's a little difficult to determine when it's legal to park somewhere, but if you make it a habit of not making sure you are legally parked you are going to keep getting tickets.

● Is race the reason people are out so raucously demonstrating against Pres. Obama's proposed healthcare revisions? I'm sure that's an underlying factor for some of them. But I really think that for a majority it's not that they can't accept a black man in the White House. It's because they can't accept a liberal in the White House. For thirty or forty years, liberals have been so demonized by the right that some people think that liberal policies are "un-American," or that they're socialist. Well, they're not. A majority of the voters put Obama in the White House because they, we, have had enough of the conservatives' failed policies. We voted for a real change in the direction of this country, and the conservative minority had better get used to it.

● I really think I'm seeing more people wearing Obama buttons since the election than before it.

● I've succumbed to twitter. Sometimes I post what I'm doing there, but I have NOT connected it to my phone. My last five tweets (I think that's what they're called) are over on the right hand column, and if you're a tweeter(?) there's a link to follow me there.

● I'm really enjoying the great decrease in my e-mail volume since the election is over. Even though I just skimmed most of them, I couldn't bring myself to delete all the political messages without opening them first.

● The struggling Wisconsin Badger football team finally won its first conference game today, beating the even more struggling Indiana squad. Indiana kept it close at first, because we kept giving them the football. Then we knocked out their quarterback and they were in deep trouble. I think their second stringer was already injured, and was only in for a few plays. Their third and fourth stringers could do nothing. Final score: 55-20.
