I'm still in France trying to post from the computer in our chambre d'hôte (like a bed and breakfast that also serves dinner). It has a French keyboard, and some of the letters and all of the punctuation marks are in different places. So I hope this comes out right.
We're right outside a little town in the Dordogne, in southwest France. The food is usually great, and never bad. Today we visited a re-creation of the Lascaux caves, with all of the great cave paintings from 10,000 years ago. It's a guided tour--ours was in English, and the guide was pretty good at it. The caves they built are an exact copy, and the paintings were recreated by an artist using the same materials, and the same techniques, as well as they can determine them. The ancient painters were quite impressive, using some rudimentary perspective, and one showing an animal going from standing to a fast run in successive pictures.
Well, it's almost time for dinner. Maybe I'll be able to post more later.

Ah yes, I fondly recall the French keyboard layout. Worked in a French firm for a few years - whenever I visited the Paris office I would be lucky to get three hours of work done in a day with all the corrections! Eventually we just had our US office ship over 1/2 dozen keyboards for visiting personnel.
Glad to hear the trip went well. Welcome back!

Russian? Where?
