U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey has rejected the denial of asylum for a woman facing genital mutilation and a possible forced marriage to her cousin. I'm impressed. After the miserable term of John Ashcroft, and the even worse one of Alberto R. Gonzales, Bush's latest A-G is definite improvement.
Of course, it's all relative. He's still a conservative Republican. He's just not a knee-jerk right-wing idealogue.
