I'm famous!

http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5h2x8r8U5awx7fHsLIyvMbm53XEUw (I'm at the end.)

An accurate quote for once. But I don't think I was somber. Maybe the reporter was only looking at my friend. And for the record, I was wearing a glittery top and a skirt, and Tawdry had on an LBD. He was right about my necklace, though. I was running late and didn't have time to find the one I really wanted to wear.

This article is from Agence France-Press (AFP), and has already been carried by a bunch of news outlets around the world!

Caprice-
Great article and quote from you!
Did you say "somber" or "sober"?
Just curious.
Congratulations!

The reporter said we were somber. Nobody said we were sober.

Hey, this burlesque show sounds like a lot of fun! The article is not very kind though... why didn't the reporter use such depreciative words to describe you girls? That's nasty. And why shouldn't we t-girls enjoy the music and tap our feet (slippered, high-heeled, you name it)? It beats me. Love. Claudia Cooks

I think part of the problem was that the reporter (working for a French news agency) was foreign. I think he was British, and was not used to American word usage regarding trans people. I don't think he was trying to be mean.

Especially in light of that, I don't think this article was particularly bad--I've seen much, much worse.
